Underdog Adds 24/7 Crypto Funding Options
Prediction market operator Underdog has announced a partnership with crypto infrastructure provider zerohash to enable round-the-clock cryptocurrency and stablecoin deposits. According to Cointelegraph, the new funding option is slated to launch later this year, allowing eligible users to fund their accounts directly through the Underdog app without needing to manage wallet addresses or select specific blockchain networks.
The zerohash integration will supplement Underdog's existing fiat on-ramps, which currently include Apple Pay, bank transfers, and credit cards. The infrastructure upgrade arrives as the platform, which boasts over 11 million registered accounts, prepares for its pending $1.3 billion acquisition by IG Group—a transaction expected to close in late 2026 or early 2027. Traders looking to optimize their capital efficiency across these expanding platforms often utilize a prediction market calculator to weigh deposit methods and potential returns.
Volume Surges Amid Intense Market Competition
Underdog's push into digital asset funding coincides with a massive surge in platform activity. Recent DeFiRate data indicates Underdog recorded $1.4 billion in trading volume over the 30 days ending October 21, representing a 133% increase from the previous period. Despite this rapid growth, the platform still trails industry heavyweights. Kalshi recently posted $81.5 billion in volume, while Polymarket's combined US and international platforms recorded $17.2 billion.
As Underdog bridges the gap between traditional fiat and crypto rails, the broader Kalshi vs Polymarket rivalry continues to dominate the sector's pricing dynamics. A recent analysis by The Defiant revealed that a hypothetical 100-contract trade—buying at 40 cents and selling at 60 cents—yields nearly identical taker profits on both Kalshi and Polymarket US, highlighting the intense competition for trader liquidity. While Underdog has not yet specified which digital assets will be supported at launch, the zerohash integration aims to capture a growing demographic of crypto-native traders seeking seamless, 24/7 market access.
